VIDEO: Break Away from Cigar Box Guitar Boredom - Retune one string to GDF!

Have you been playing the same licks over and over again?  Let's retune just one string and make the fretboard FRESH again.  This is the G7 tuning, a jazzy version of the blues tuning.  If you're in Open G, simply retune the high string down to an F.

Check out the Susquehanna Folk Festival at http://julyfolkfest.org .  I'll be performing there on Saturday, July 28.

Sounds great. You need to do one of your 3 string where you added a 4th string (like a 12 string) seems like you did one a few years ago. Sounded great.

this tuning sounds great I tried it on my CBG and really like the change. What strings would you recommend for an open E tuning.

Danny, just use E-A-D strings from a normal pack of guitar strings if you want to tune to Open E
