New Guitar Slides, a Big Damn Show & My Liberian Kids!

Shane Speal newsletter... new slides, the kids got the barrel (pics below) and a "big damn show" next week.

I'm getting buried by snow right now, so I've used the time to list these hand-painted Art Guitar Slides.

It's been a while since I've gotten a new collectible guitar slide up at These new Art Slides are hand=spun on a potter's wheel and then individually painted by Dave Lynas.  To be honest, I received more than the 16 shown here, but decided to keep several of them for my own growing slide collection.

M-O-O-N...that spells slide.

They're like mini pieces of art for your blues....
Update 2:  I'm currently out of cobalt blue bottleneck stubby slides.  I'll be making more once I can shovel my way into the woodshop again.
Update 3:
Guitar slides can change the world.

Two weeks ago, a 55 gallon barrel stuffed with children's clothes made it to Monrovia, Liberia.  We had sent this shipment out right before Christmas and it took more than 2 months to arrive.

Pastor George told me there were 113 kids in his church who didn't have good clothes.  The process of getting the barrel to him involved several miracles that I watched unfold.

When I started, I dedicated 10% of all gross sales to go to Wesseh and the church that was helping him.  Although Wesseh is gone, my support for Pastor George's church will continue.

The kids are alright...

I'm planning on a rare guitar slide sale to benefit this church very soon (maybe around Easter).  I'll be honest, I wanted to do the special sale sooner, but the whole Wesseh funeral beat me down.  For all the smiling face vids and pics of me, the truth is, I've been crushed.  I'll get over it and the fundraiser will happen soon...

Here's one more pic:

"Pick me!"
I've only got a few of these left...

See the demo video in the link!

Sure, it looks like a classic Shane Speal 3-string cigar box guitar with a fantastic Padron all wood cigar box and internal pickup/preamp. It gets all evil when it's strung with low strings for a rumbling Open D/Open E tuning. See the video.

I've got 10 of these started.  Nine will be sold.  (I'm keeping the first so I can use it in concert.  It's friggin' awesome!  I'll probably be playing it on Wednesday at our new residency at Crystal Ball Brewing.  Info below...)

The huge Padron boxes are acoustically responsive.  I'm in love.

Get 'em while you can.  I'll probably be off on another style of instrument once all these are gone.
